Great place to start from when you want to hike somewhere...
Great place to start from when you want to hike somewhere green and foresty. Nature reserves, trails, an island few minutes by bus we could walk through five days and still love it. And you return to somehow quiet city, but big enough to get your shopping and meals and also entertainment. Easy to go around and travel to near by cities both by train and bus. I can imagine it would be much harder in winter months, but June in Sundsvall is heavenly.

A nice city.
A nice city. We were driving towards Stockholm from North Sweden, and stopped at Sundsvall for one night. We went to the bathhouse (Himlabadet), which was really nice. The water was warm at the bathhouse and had lots of adventure. The nature outside the town is also very nice (when we were driving, especially towards the north). It was also exciting to cross the bridge in the town.

Sundsvall is an ok town.
Sundsvall is an ok town. This particular hotel was located in/at the edge of the center so all the necessary facilities where within the approximity. Prices for eating out are quite high though, when with a family of four you can easily be off with at least 150 euros a day. My stay was seminar based and strateglically booked so I didn't have to cover much distances to get around, so no opinions about that.

Nice city with a great little downtown area.
Nice city with a great little downtown area. Lots of restaurants with a wide variety of choice. Nice pedestrian shopping area. A wide selection of hotels for all tastes and likes including modern on top of a mountain to old world charm in the center of downtown as well as a hotel on a ship. Nice old architectural buildings with 21st century offerings all around.

Sundsvall, is part of Northern Sweden but geographically more or less in the center. It's a small and cozy little city with all facilities you need and the area outside the city is very beautiful. There is a skiing resort just next door and wonderful places to walk and experience nature.
Everything was great!
I think it was the cleanest hotel I ever stayed in, it has a gorgeous location, comfy beds, a great breakfast (where we as vegans could also find enough!)
aswell as just the most wonderful staff who went out of their way to make things possible (eg a late check in) (Thanks Anna!)
The community kitchen was perfect for us aswell.
I am sad we stayed just one night and would most definitely come again.
Considering value for money, it is a great place to stay. There were common kitchen and common bathrooms, but those were always clean enough. Free parking next to the place to stay. A tower to watch the whole town, just few hundred meters away from the Vandrarhem, which is also very close to the city centre. But still, it is within nature, and children have a place to play outside the house.
The hotel is situated in the centre of the attractive city centre with easy access to everything. It has a classic yet modern feel with beautiful stairs, Cody lounges where you can feel the touch of history. We used a deluxe room which was excellent. Spacious room, clean and modern bathroom and beautiful views.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
I just stopped over for one night. Staff is super nice. I was there Friday night and had "traditional Tacos"! Excellent and true story. Have been to Sweden before and never heard it. Hotel is OK, I had a room on the top floor and the ceilings are a bit low. Apart from that, I do recommend.
We like everything. The location is good. Spacious and comfortable. One of the best place that we've stayed. Marcus and mom are very friendly. We will definitely stay here again if we visit Sundsvall again. Highly recommend. Hope your garden will grow more beautiful than now.
Matias, receptionist rude, unhelpful. But Evia was good.i was given a room next to dog room. I couldn't sleep due to dog disturbance. Beds were of poorest quality. I developed Acute lower backpain.noise on roof due to renovation
it was centrally located. It was close to everything that you could possibly need like ATM, restaurants, Apotheke, etc. The hotel had a bit of a nautical theme but not so much that it would jump out at you. It was very nice
Location most central in Sundsvall, parking right in front of hotel, 100m to nearest fast charger for EV, good breakfast, well cleaned and tidy, got something small to eat despite late arrival, cosy bed
Nice and well furnished hotel and room. Clean. good breakfast with European, UK standard choices and some swedish treats. Good sound isolation from street noise. Close to city center and most amenities.
Cosy, clean, comfortable and furnished with such an eye for detail. This wonderful little apartment just a 15min walk to Sundsvall centrum has an amazing price/quality ratio!
The hotell is in the middle of sentrum. Nice big rooms, Ok breakfast. It was an good stay with nothing really bad. I would use the hotel again if I am in the city.
